This is a scan of the type from the typewriter that used to be in the Downtown Business Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh. I first noticed this typewriter's existence while I was walking through the library and heard the familiar but rare clickity clack of an electric typewriter. To my surprise, behind the rows of computers was a small, elderly woman typing away. I waited until she was gone to type my sample alphabet. When I returned a few weeks later, the typewriter was gone.
A work in progress. I am collaborating with two other illustrators on a triptych of altered books. We will be taking a turn with three books and passing them around until we have each contributed to all three books. My co-collaborators are Steph Neary and Andrew Scott, two great illustrators/artists/designers. I've only just started on my first book but I'm plenty excited about it already - the unpredictable outcome is especially appealing.
